Meet Plush You! artist: Kata Stack
Say hello to Kata Stack! She will be at this year's opening...so exciting!

Tell my readers a bit about yourself
Hello everyone! My name's Kata and I'm from Boston Ma, and I live just a little south of there in Rockland. I am a photographer/artist and have been making plush for almost 4 years now. This is my third time showing at Plush You! and it's hands down one of my favorite times of the year! I'm also wicked excited that I get to attend the opening this year, woohoo vacation!
What do you love most about making plush toys?
I love the whole process of it, from the initial idea explosion to hand sewing the little details on near the end and the stuff that seems like it may take forever, it forces me to slow down and focus, which I sometimes have a hard time doing. My favorite thing about it though, and it's also what initially drew me into this art form, is that its tangible. It's not something that you just look at hanging on the wall, or something that only exists on your computer screen-- it's something that you can touch and move around and interact with. I think once the viewer has that ability, they connect to it in a whole different way, and as a compulsive art-toucher (which anyone who has ever gone to a museum or gallery with me can attest to!) having a show where that's encouraged is amazing!
Is this your full time job?
No, not as in quit-my-day-job full time, cause a girls gotta have insurance, ya know? However the creature-making and photography ventures have been taking up more and more of my time, and I couldn't be happier! I love what I do!
What sites do you look at for inspiration?
I think I get more inspiration out of my day-to-day life than anywhere online specifically. Although I could browse Etsy forever and ever!

Did you do anything fun for the summer?
I did, I had a great summer, I worked a ton! But like I said, I love what I do so that's alright. I decided to teach myself how to sew as well, so all summer i've been working away at that-- very happy to be able to show the results at this years show!
