Plush You! opens up October 12th at Schmancy.  I thought it would be fun to meet the artists.  Here is an interview with talkproof.

Tell my readers a bit about yourself

Hey guys! I'm Cassie and I'm a recent Southern Californian transplant (originally from the Bay Area)! I never know what to say about myself...I'm 21, love cooking, sewing toys, and krav! If you're from CA you've probably seen me on Yelp haha.

What do you love most about making plush toys?

I love that making toys is so open, as there are no standards to follow (compared to sewing clothing), I also appreciate how versatile plush toys can be--the possibilities of what you can make for any purpose are only limited by your imagination!

Is this your full time job?

Nope :(. I'm currently a student juggling classes, and an unpaid intern at a gaming company!

What sites do you look at for inspiration?

It's weird...but recently I've been looking for home decoration inspiration and have been frequenting IKEA. The toys I've been making are generally what I think would look good in certain areas of my living space. I haven't been on too many craft sites, but tumblr, deviantart, and pinterest? are good places for DIY!

Did you do anything fun for the summer?

Unfortunately I've just been working and going to school. I did go to the U.S. Open, but that's about it for the summer. I'll be doing a craft show later in the fall which will be fun :)
