Tell my readers a bit about yourself

Well, I am a Chicago suburbanite turned country girl. In 2005 I moved my family out into the cornfield's to enjoy some peace and quiet. It all backfired on me when I realized that there wasn't a whole lot to do out here and I'm not much for peace and quiet! Lesson learned. I began making dolls in my free time as a stay at home mom in 2008. Making dolls quickly became my passion and my saving grace. Without the dolls I just might have lost my mind.

What do you love most about making plush toys?

I really love every aspect of making dolls. From picking out fabrics to putting on the finishing touches. The whole process is fun for me. I guess if I had to narrow it down to what I like most about it, it would be how it makes me feel. Seeing people enjoy my work has given me a confidence that I never had before.

Is this your full time job?

Yes, for now. That will unfortunately change when both my kids are in school full time. Unless I increase my sales or win a large sum of money.

What sites do you look at for inspiration?

Besides looking to my children for most of my inspiration, I also find Etsy to be a great resource. There is just so much tallent out there. It's mind blowing.

Did you do anything fun for the summer?

After a season full of gallery shows and endless deadlines this girl needed a break from everyday life. So we loaded up the car and took the family up North to Hayward, Wisconsin for our annual "fishing and hang out on the pontoon-boat trip." There really is nothing like the North Woods. The rest of the summer was hectic and consisted of family parties, water parks, beaches, and avoiding the heatwave. Good times!
