Michal Wright-Ward Interview
Say hello to Michal Wright-Ward who makes awesome plush and was super nice to put us up last summer for Plush You! in LA!
What is your favorite part about working in this medium?
I love that there are no rules, that the possibilities are so endless. You can make a toy for your child or you can make a fine art soft-sculpture, no answer is wrong
What is your background?
I have a degree in animation and three years of fine arts in high school, but I learned the most important skill, being able to think outside the box and never saying "never" from my mom when I was much younger. All those piles of pom-pons and pipe cleaners and endless summer afternoons were the best. Thanks, mom!

Favorite crafty tool?
My stuffing fork and pinking Shears. Oh! And I just discovered the upholstery curved needle. Where has it been all my life?!
Favorite fall activity?
Cooking soup. And eating it, of course
Did you have any inspiration behind the toys you are submitting for Plush You!?
I live in one of the coolest, most vibrant neighborhoods in LA and my favorite thing to do is sit at a cafe, people-watch and doodle. There's inspiration wherever I look
