Moon's Creations Interview

Say hello to amigurumi master, Moon's Creations!

What is your favorite part about working in this medium?

My absolute favorite part about working with amigurumi the versatility. I love that I can jam that crochet hook anywhere in the piece and make up my own stitches to create.

What is your background?

Originally I started out as a knitter. I still am a pretty swanky knitter when it comes to clothing, but I picked up a crochet hook when I mistakenly believed amigurumi was like a yarn version of origami. I was amazed that people could making something using only one strand of yarn. haha! What a fool! My mother had tried to teach me how to crochet as a child, but it didn't stick. Luckily I've been making it up as I go along and have a wonderful time!

Favorite crafty tool?

My favorite crafting tool has to be my hand tooled crochet hook made by Larry of resplendentcreations. It's made of maple and fits like a glove in my hand. I've broken one before and it's a true tragedy in my house.

Favorite fall activity?

My favorite fall activity has to be taking hikes in the mountains. I love the autumn smell of leaves and the beautiful views from the mountains is just breathtaking.

Did you have any inspiration behind the toys you are submitting for Plush You!?

While planning my designs for Plush You, I made a trip to a local antique mall and found an assortment of lovely antique bowls and cups. From there I was inspired to make the pieces for Plush You. They are an assortment of crocheted miniature trees, similar to bonsai, with a Moon Bun twist.
