Olbapi Interview
Say hello again to Olbapi! Not only did she make a Schmancy Exclusive for us but she's also part of this year's Plush You! show.
What is your favorite part about working in this medium?
I love the transformation that happens when I take a design from my sketchbook or my head and make it three-dimensionally
in fabric. There is something really satisfying and wonderful about that process.
What is your background?
I studied textile design in school but have loved making things since I was very small. As a kid, my sisters and I were always
cooking up some kind of crazy project. My parents are both very creative and crafty too, and I learned a lot about sewing and textiles
from my grandma when I was younger.

Favorite crafty tool?
DMC Embroidery thread-it's the best finishing tool EVER!
Favorite fall activity?
Walking my dogs
Did you have any inspiration behind the toys you are submitting for Plush You!?
Sometimes I'm not really sure where these things come from. The Fancy Fruits just appeared one day in my sketchbook. Usually I'm trying to make something that makes me laugh, and these guys seemed really silly and funny. Whenever I showed the idea to someone, it evoked some kind of
snort or chuckle- so I thought I'd just go with it.
