Weird Bug Lady Interview
I feel like science and art/craft meet together often and the results are pretty much amazing. Weird Bug Lady will show ya' what I mean.
What is your favorite part about working in this medium?
I love to create things other people are able to enjoy, not just visually but through touch. I also like to raise awareness for the more unusual lifeforms around us. When someone sees a soft cuddly cockroach or scorpion, they might start thinking about that creature in a different way.
What is your background?
I have a degree in zoology, I am currently working on a PhD in entomology, and I've been crafting since I could crawl. I try to merge my artsy and science-y sides whenever possible.

Favorite crafty tool?
My old Singer sewing machines.
Favorite fall activity?
Running outside in the crisp cool air.
Did you have any inspiration behind the toys you are submitting for Plush You!?
Anyone who knows about tardigrades (water bears) cannot help but love them! I have received many requests for these microscopic extremophile creatures over the years. One of my friends studies tardigrades and I have seen them alive under a scope - they are adorable!
