What does blind assortment mean?

A lot of the vinyl toys are packaged as blind assortment.  This means nobody knows what's in the box until you open it...including me.  Think Crackerjack's.  It's a great way to buy something and still be surprised or buy something for a friend who likes a lot of everything or has everything.  It's fun for the whole family...in a box.
